Coach Willie has been coaching swim on and off for over 25 years and this will be his 2nd summer with the Piranhas. His favorite stroke to watch is breastroke and favorite to swim is freestyle. NY style pizza is his favorite food and green is his favorite color. When asked why he loves coaching, Willie replied, “I enjoy watching the kiddos get better and more comfortable in the water.” He loves all summers and is excited to begin his second season.
Jamie is currently a rising sophomore at James Madison University on a nursing track. This will be her second summer coaching and second summer as a piranha coach! Her favorite stroke is butterfly and favorite food ice cream with purple being her favorite color. When asked why she loves coaching, Jamie said, “I love to watch all of the kids successes and watch their hard work pay off. The positive atmosphere between coaches and kids is also so welcoming!” She is most excited for early morning practices and watching it pay off on meet days.
Coach Brooke has been coaching with Old Dominion Aquatic Club since last summer, but she began swimming competitively at 4 and continued through high school. She is also a preschool teacher and mom of 4, so she knows kids inside and out! This will be her first summer coaching for the piranhas. Her favorite stroke is freestyle, due to her excelling at sprinting and loves Filipino food! Aqua and purple are her favorite colors. When asked why she loves coaching, Brooke said, “I love it when something you have been coaching clicks and they get it for the first time and get so excited.” She is most excited to meet all the piranhas and watch her son Lucas swim his second season as a piranha.
Sydney has been coaching for four years and this will be her first year as a piranha coach. She also is a nurse! Her favorite stroke is freestyle and she loves donuts. Her favorite color is also green! When asked why she loves to coach, Sydney replied “I love watching the kids progress and fall in love with the sport is the best thing to watch!” She is most excited for working with a new team and meeting all the amazing families!
