This content can be easily edited and deleted as you create your own content: go to Manage Site > Edit Template Content and click on the pencil icon in each snippet.
You can insert Sponsor Snippets in a sidebar that shows up throughout your site ("Right Sidebar" template) or in a custom template for specific pages.
Once you have sponsors, they'll appear in these Sponsor Snippets
